Social Events
Receptions: ICRA 2008 will open with a welcome reception on the
evening of Tuesday May 20 (1800-1930), and will close with a farewell
reception on the evening of Friday May 23 (1800-1930). The welcome reception will feature a celebration of JPL's many contributions to robotics.
Banquet: ICRA 2008 will feature the traditional conference
banquet. The banquet will be at the conference venue in the
Pavilion. It will be held on Thursday May 22, 2008 (1900-2100).
Robot Comics Contest: ICRA 2008 will feature a robot comics
contest. We welcome individual and team entries. The jury will be
composed of five experts in robotics and comics design. See

Student Party: For the first time, ICRA 2008 will feature a student party. It will
be held on Wednesday May 21, 2008 (193000-2300) at the conference
venue in the Pavilion.
Pasadena and the surrounding Los Angeles metropolitan area is a
vibrant cultural and entertainment hub. There is plenty to see and do
during your visit. A help desk at the conference venue will be
available for visitors to make arrangements to visit nearby
attraction. The
